Wenge & Glass Industrial

Having sold their country home and purchased an older 70’s executive home in the city, these client’s quickly embraced the modernist styling of Frank Lloyd Wright and ran with it! Organic materials combined with industrial elements proved to be a perfect pairing for this couple’s new kitchen! An unorthodox approach was required for the space in order to accommodate the client’s appliance wishlist, as well as a wet bar area and a large island for prepping.

Waterfront Highrise in New West

Designer Marion Toft and her husband purchased this condo in a highrise for it’s amazing views and location. Then she embarked on a complete renovation of the space. Reflective of a New York loft, the finished result is a modern, fashion forward home. Sleek flat doors in stained wood are contrasted with inset chrome hardware. Well thought space planning creatively uses every square foot of storage. A distressed painted hutch artfully juxtaposes the modern, clean lines of the kitchen. Perimeter rails in the main living area display their daughter’s artwork. A huge undertaking but well worth the efforts as they now enjoy the view of Mt Baker in the comfort of a sleek, modern home.

Simply Country

This custom home was due for an update, not only to update the style, but to keep up with the stage that the client’s large family is now at! Our client uses her kitchen to it’s fullest, so we needed to maximize storage and efficiency, while updating the look of this beautiful country home in West Mission. Fresh linen coloured cabinets and granite countertops maintain the timeless look that this family will love for years to come!

Greendale Kitchen

These clients wanted to update their run-of-the-mill 90’s oak kitchen. Deciding to install brand new cabinets instead of refinishing their old ones allowed us to lengthen the cabinets to the ceiling and use a more contemporary door style. The oil rubbed bronze handles, beautiful mosaic backsplash and granite countertops compliment the warm wood stain of the cabinets. Details such as the shaker pillars, the custom hood, and built-in wine rack create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The bathroom renovations are equally beautiful transformations, from the floor to ceiling storage in the ensuites to the uniquely paneled door and floating sink of the powder room.

French Country Retreat in South Langley

The custom cape-cod home that this couple had built has been well loved and well used! With no plans to move, an update was in order. Careful consideration was given to how this couple used their kitchen, the function and flow with lots of company and grandchildren, as well as the view to the back yard. The clients are thrilled with the results and their guests love to gather in the kitchen!

Country Charm

This client’s rancher home had clear-span trusses, allowing them to completely gut the interior walls and redesign the layout. The result is an open-spacious plan that perfectly suits their family! From the spacious kitchen, open to the living & dining areas, to the Jack and Jill ensuite between the two kid’s bedrooms, this redesigned space is a perfect fit for this family! The kitchen peninsula doubles as a credenza/hutch on the livingroom side. Pullout features maximize storage, and the skirted “Farm Sink” and glass features add a charming touch!

Cape Cod Bathroom Renovation

Some updates were in store for this traditional Cape Cad home in South Surrey. A timeless traditional style with a “new” edge was the approach, as we refreshed the powder room, main bathroom and master ensuite as we maximzed space. The powder and ensuite were revamped with creme and espresso tones, while the main bathroom was done in blue-grey tones.

Kitchen Remodel on "Eagle Mountain"

Seven years after supplying the custom cabinets for this Eagle Mountain home, the homeowners came back to us with a dilemma. Although they still loved the location of their home, it was starting to look outdated and not quite as spectacular as when they first moved in. The plan: update the kitchen while using the existing cabinets. That’s just what we did!
Taking the cabinets to the ceiling by adding to the cabinets that were all ready there brought this kitchen to new heights, literally! To accommodate new appliances, the fridge wall was remodeled. The finishing touch: granite countertops.
The clients are loving the new look of their kitchen and plan to stay!

"The Highlands" Kitchen Renovation

Kitchen Make-over in "The Highlands". The Quast’s home in The Highlands is gorgeous! Beautifully designed and located on a private lane with a stunning view, this home would be hard to replace. Unfortunately, the home was just old enough that the cabinetry was beginning to date the house and limit decorating possibilities. After mulling over the options, the clients decided to embark on a kitchen make-over. The concept was to modify some of the cabinets, repair some wear and tear and then paint over all of the cabinetry. The clients chose “Dune White” for the main cabinets, boldly contrast the island with black and replace the cove countertops with granite. The dramatic results give this kitchen a new level of sophistication!

The Designer’s Kitchen Remodel

There are two down sides to being a designer: You always want to redesign and redecorate your own home, but also you are always so busy working on client’s projects that your own home gets pushed aside.
Designer Carol Davies, of Unity Design, had decided that she had waited long enough to redesign her own home. Even though her schedule was busy, she was determined to give her home the make-over she had long planned to do!
Not wanting to do any structural changes to the home, Carol’s concept was to transform the existing space to the more modern look that she wanted. And that’s exactly what she did!
Remodeling some existing cabinets, and refacing the rest with a new door style, colour and hardware completely changed the look of this kitchen. A modern chimney style hood-fan, hand-blown glass pendants over the island, and a gorgeous glass mosaic splash work together for a truly “magazine worthy” kitchen!

The Farmhouse Renovation

To modernize the layout and function of a heritage home while staying true to its timeless style and welcoming charm is a unique challenge. This farmhouse renovation was the product of careful planning, and feedback from each family member ensured that the family home would maintain the comfortable familiarity that they new and loved, but in a larger layout.
The “Modern Country” kitchen is done in Cloud White, and is finished to the sloped, tongue and grooved fir ceiling. The “Espresso” stained maple island, hand scraped wood floors, wood post and wrought iron light fixture compliment the painted cabinets using warm, rustic elements. The Bianco Antiquo Granite, stainless appliances and glass mosaic tiles add a subtle touch of “modern” to the overall design.
The kitchen has been warmly received by family and friends, with the common response that “it feels like home.”

"Eagle Mountain" Basement Renovation

Too often, basements are infrequently used spaces filled with unwanted furniture and storage boxes. Desiring to see her basement space designed to its potential, the homeowner hired Donna and Char of "To the Nines Design" to oversee the project.
The newly designed space has a simple sophistication and is perfect backdrop for casual entertaining.

Burnaby Highrise Renovation

It can be difficult to make a condo feel like “home.” Thus was the case for Molly, who made the big move from her family home in New Westminster to the 27th floor in a Burnaby high rise. With the skilled assistance of designer Estelle Fitz-Morris, this small space was transformed into a quaint new home for Molly, which included a brighter, more traditional kitchen and built-in hutch. Needless to say, Molly is tickled pink with her new home!

Creekstone Drive Renovation

The Krunick’s gorgeous French-country home is located in the exclusive “Creekstone” development in Abbotsford. With a desire to stay in this area and maintain the value of their home, Ken and Debbie have embarked on a complete make-over for the interior.
Debbie had been dreaming about this kitchen for years, and had a very detailed wish list that we helped to expand. With limited floor space and an 8ft ceiling to work around, we endeavored to give this kitchen the “wow!” factor the clients were looking to create. The result is an exquisite French-country kitchen! Adorned with our mitred “Empress” door, the kitchen’s elegance is enhanced by the ornamental details and antiqued finish. Complete with birch plywood interiors and dovetail drawers with soft-closing glides this kitchen is truly a pleasure to work in!

"Citadel Heights" Renovation

This couple was looking to purchase a home and Citadel Heights had it all. An established neighborhood of executive homes overlooking the Fraser River and Mt Baker it is conveniently located for their commute to work. The house they decided on had many beautiful architectural features but was just old enough to need some updates.
Working closely with the clients to develop a look that reflected their style, Generation Cabinets transformed their predictable oak kitchen and powder room into a sleeker, more contemporary look. Dark espresso cabinets are contrasted by the creamy tones of the travertine floor and granite countertops. The stainless handles and the stone and glass mosaic backsplashes finish the look beautifully.

Burnaby Townhome Renovation

Rob’s priorities in life are back country skiing and biking, spending most of his free time at Whistler. When he purchased his townhome 7 years ago, it was really just a place to sleep and store his stuff. With the prodding of family and friends, Rob decided it was time to make this townhome his “home” and embarked on an extensive renovation.
The finished result is astonishing and Rob now enjoys his space at home immensely when he’s there. Finished in a look reflective of Whistler Generation Cabinets combined efficient use of space and functionality to make this space his own. Eliminating a closet and losing the boxed drop in the kitchen opened up the space, making it feel much larger than it was previously.
The warm tones of the “Cappucino” cabinets are strongly contrasted with the honed black granite countertops. Accented with stainless appliances, glass mosaic splashes and under cabinet lighting, this new kitchen looks nothing at all like the original boxy u-shaped kitchen.
The bathrooms have greatly benefited from the new look, which are quite smart looking. Rob’s family and friends are also pleased with the result!

West Vancouver Renovation

With real estate in West Vancouver at a premium, renovating an existing home is a great investment! Purchased by an Architect and a builder, the makeover of this 1960’s home involved completely redesigning the interior layout to a more modern, open concept which focused on the gorgeous view of Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver.
The transformation included designing larger, more functional kitchen and bathroom spaces. The gourmet maple kitchen, perfect for entertaining, was finished in “Cappucino.” Glass mosaic tile, granite countertops and stainless appliances blend modern elements with natural materials, reflective of the West Vancouver lifestyle.
Tastefully appointed, the new bathrooms are both beautiful and functional. Large vanities with banks of drawers keep the spaces organized and tidy. Full width mirrors reflect the view and natural light from the floor to ceiling windows.
Now, the home is worthy of the location and view that it’s new owners enjoy!
